It appears like Graysons real motives in his
"die quickly" speech have nothing to do with actually getting healthcare reform passed. He knew it would stir up anger and the words just seem to be a deliberate attempt to spark more political animosity, in hopes that it would sway the currently democratic majority to vote.
I don't care if it's democrats or republicans who do it, tactics like these are what have gotten our country in the situation we are in today. Both sides are using partial truths as scare tactics to try to push their political agenda, while none of them seem to be legitimately concerned with the welfare of the people who voted them into office.
I'm so sick of the debates. If you listen to one side for a while you'd be convinced that they have all the answers - the numbers and figures they give you are very convincing. But if you listen to the other side, amazingly their facts totally support their argument. So what is the truth!? The truth is that you can make numbers say whatever you want to fit your political agenda. So that takes real facts out of the healthcare equation and puts the focus of the healthcare reform debate squarely back on the shoulder of raw emotion.
I'd be interested to see an candid discussion on health care where actual plans are presented, and the originator of the plan addresses not only why it will work, but what they think the weaknesses are. There is no plan out there that has no weaknesses. I'm sick of being lied to! Each side would have you believe their plan is perfect. Yeah right!
The future of our health care system cannot be decided in a heated or hasty vote. We need to take a step back and all calm down so that rational decisions can be made. Grayson wants to scare us into making a hasty emotional decision without weighing all the facts. Yes we need reform, and we need it soon, but not like this.
Republicans demand an apology, Grayson won't give it, Pelosi won't demand it. But Grayson is now taking the "high road" trying to argue that republicans are more concerned about their feelings than healthcare. Isn't he the one that started all this. If he was so concerned about keeping this moving then he would issue the apology. If republicans really wanted to move things forward they would stop demanding one. If Pelosi wanted to bring members of congress together, she would do what it takes to make it happen, in this case require an apology. In the end before real healthcare reform can happen we need some serious attitude reform in congress, no all sides.
